A park near central Oxford was partly closed by police for several hours – despite no crime having taken place.
The car park and play park in Hinksey Park were cordoned off by Thames Valley Police yesterday morning (Wednesday, January 3), according to eyewitness reports.
It came after the force received a third party report of a possible incident in the park off Abingdon Road.

But following a “thorough investigation”, police concluded that no crime had taken place and reopened the park in the afternoon.
A force spokesman said: “We are not in a position to provide further details, but we can confirm no one has been injured and there is no danger to the wider public and our investigation has concluded.
“We would like to thank the public for their patience during this time and we apologise for any disruption this may have caused.”
