An Oxford cafe which mistakenly claimed to serve ‘fleshly brewed coffee’ has fixed the unfortunate typo.

Unique Koffee in Cowley Road has corrected its signage to read ‘freshly brewed coffee’ after eagle-eyed pedestrians spotted the error.

It comes just a few weeks after the cafe opened, with the mishap described as a “funny story” by business partner Silvie Beranova.

Fearing she would make a spelling mistake, the Czech-national gave the signwriting job to “an English person”, who made the error.

There was no time to fix the mistake before the cafe’s opening on December 9, she said.

The cafe serves a range of sandwiches and breakfast dishes, including its “signature” porridge served with cacao, hot butter and seasonal fruit – a specialty from the Czech Republic.
