It is understood no serious injuries were sustained and the pub reopened today (December 24) while repairs take place.
A spokesperson for the Wig & Pen said: “Unfortunately we had to close the Wig & Pen early last night, due to a leak that had caused a small part of the ceiling to collapse in the male toilets.
"A fire engine and an ambulance attended the pub and a gentleman was taken in the ambulance, however no injuries were believed to have been sustained.
"We made sure that all customers and the team were safe following the incident.
"We have followed the correct procedures and have a team attending today to repair the damage.
"The pub has reopened today and the damaged area will not be accessible until it has been repaired."
