A driver tested positive for cocaine while another was charged with drink driving as part of a morning operation, police have said.

Thames Valley Police officers conducted an hour-long drink and drug road check in Queens Avenue in Bicester this morning (December 6).

The driver, whose gender has not been identified, was arrested after providing a positive drugs wipe for cocaine and taken to the nearest police station for a blood procedure.

There were also three traffic offence reports issued for no seatbelts being worn.

While one traffic offence report as part of the operation stated a driver did not have a "proper view of the road".

The majority of drivers provided negative tests, said Thames Valley Police.

Officers can test for cannabis and cocaine at the roadside, and screen for other drugs including ecstasy, LSD, ketamine and heroin at a police station.
