Thames Water has launched an interactive tool for the public to report and locate issues across London and the Thames Valley.

The online map, a new feature on the Thames Water website, enables problems such as sewer flooding, blockages, and leaks to be reported via desktops or mobile phones.

The tool also allows users to keep a tab on planned maintenance work in their area, including traffic and roadwork updates.

Users will be able to pinpoint the exact location of the problem using boundary lines and property numbers.

They can provide a detailed account of the problem, and upload photos and videos, receiving instant updates on the progress of their reported issue.

Once reported, the company will schedule for the issue to be investigated and fixed if it's necessary.

Retail director at Thames Water, David Bird, said: "We’re delighted our new online map has gone live.

"As a company we are committed to connecting with our 15 million customers and improving the service we provide to them.

"With this new tool, customers can report issues in a fast and simple manner that works for them."

He added: "Time can sometimes be a crucial factor in turning a minor issue into a major one.

"We’re making it as quick and easy as possible for people to report something when they see it, because the sooner we can get to a problem the better."
