A restaurant in the Vale of White Horse area has been handed a new two out of five food hygiene rating.

Gulshan Brasserie, a restaurant based in the High Street in Shrivenham was given the score after assessment conducted by the Food Standards Agency on October 24 this year.

A score of two out of five means 'improvement necessary'.

Of the three categories scored in the assessment, an overview on the agency's website shows hygienic food handling was scored as 'improvement necessary'.

Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building was rated 'good' and management of food safety was considered 'generally satisfactory'.

The brasserie, which has an average rating of four out of five stars on TripAdvisor, describes itself as “a pleasant and newly refurbished contemporary restaurant where herbs and spices are a speciality".
