A councillor is being prosecuted by the local authority he serves on for failing to notify it of a change in circumstances that would have affected his council tax reduction.
Colin Dingwall, 72, of Foxburrow Lane, Crawley, appeared at Oxford Magistrates' Court on November 17 accused of three counts of behaving contrary to Regulation 8 of the Council Tax Reduction Scheme (Detection of Fraud and Enforcement) (England) Regulations 2013.
The Conservative councillor, who represents Hailey, Minster Lovell and Leafield on West Oxfordshire District Council, denied all three counts.
A trial date was set of February 5, 2024, and Mr Dingwall was released on unconditional bail.
A long-serving member of the council, Mr Dingwall was most recently re-elected in May 2021.
