Castle Quay Shopping Centre in Banbury has announced it will create a free Mini-Winter Wish Land pop-up, launching on December 2.

Santa and his elves will launch the event, which requires no booking but will operate on a first come first served basis.

Children will be able to write and post Christmas wishes to Santa in the Wish Land, located opposite Halifax and next to Vision Express.

On the same day, activities including a children’s tombola and a Christmas jumper pop-up will take place in front of the customer service desk.

Proceeds will be donated to Castle Quay’s official charity partner, The Sunshine Centre in Banbury.

The centre also promises lantern making workshops for children in collaboration with Banbury BID at the unit next to Costa Coffee, costing £2 each.

Children can then display their creations in a town-wide lantern parade on December 9.

On December 9 and 10, visitors can enjoy the centre’s free snow globe near JD Sports, where they can also explore Santa’s accessible-friendly sleigh.

A festive photo competition offers the chance to win a gift card when visitors share their Christmas photos with the centre.

Oliver Wren, centre director at Castle Quay Shopping Centre, said: “We know our shoppers absolutely loved our Winter Wish Land last year, so we had to bring it back.

"The addition of the accessible sleigh, competitions, snow globes and tombola will bring extra festive fun."
