Community groups near Bicester have received more than £8,000 in funding from the Co-op’s Local Community Fund.
A total of £8,200 is being shared in Bicester and surrounding areas by six groups, including Animal Antiks, an animal support charity for people suffering from mental health issues, which received £1,280.
Co-op members have raised the funds to support the projects by swiping or scanning their membership cards when buying own-brand products and services, with members earning rewards for themselves.

Rebecca Birkbeck, director of community and member participation at Co-op, said: “We’re really proud of our local community fund and the impact it’s had supporting thousands of local causes across the UK.
“These groups deliver incredible grassroot projects, enabling them to provide important services, support and activities for their diverse communities.”
