Inspectors have found a Chinese takeaway has the lowest possible hygiene standards.

Popular Chinese Takeaway at Hempton Road, Deddington, Banbury, was given a rating of zero following its most recent inspection, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Inspectors said major improvement was necessary in how hygienically the food is handled, the physical condition of the business and how the business manages ways of keeping food safe, looking at processes, training and systems to ensure good hygiene is maintained.

A zero indicates failures across all three areas.

In March 2022 the takeaway received a three-out-of-five food hygiene rating which means it is generally satisfactory.

The Oxford Mail has requested Cherwell District Council release the food safety officer’s report following the inspection on October 12.
