With Christmas just around the corner we are featuring some festive photos from the Oxford Mail archives.
Prices have increased over the decades and some of the stores have changed but the Christmas shopping tradition remains the same.
Some of these photos date back to the 1960s before the Westgate Centre was built.

The Westgate Centre did not open until 1972 and even after that Cornmarket remained the city's traditional main shopping street.
Now, following a £440m revamp in 2017, the Westgate Centre is the city's major shopping attraction.
But there are lots of other places to shop too, including Cornmarket, the High Street, Queen Street and the Covered Market.
And if you want to shop outside the city centre, you could try Jericho, Summertown or Headington.
