A church Christmas tree festival is set to go ahead again this year with over 70 trees being featured.

St Edburg’s church in Bicester will once again be hosting the decorative event, where organisations can gather inside the medieval walls and dress up one of 70 trees – provided by the church - in tinsel, boerboels, and whatever else they choose.

The public will be invited to the festival, for a small entrance donation, to wander through the forest of decorated trees, enjoying live music and refreshments and soaking up the atmosphere.

A spokesperson for the church said: “The festival is an opportunity for organisations to be part of a spectacular display within this beautiful medieval church by decorating a Christmas tree, in the themes and style they choose.

“It is not a competition, simply a great opportunity to show your organisation in an imaginative and festive way and to be part of a unique mixture of heritage, community expression and fun.”

The church is asking participating organisations to make a minimum donation to cover the cost of the tree, £22 for individuals and non-profit groups, and £44 for businesses.

Organisations will need to provide their own decorations and lights (mains LED light only), and the church will purchase the trees, stands and power for the lights.

The festival will take place on December 8 to 10, from 10am to 7pm on Friday, 10am to 7pm on Saturday and Sunday from 12.30pm until 5.30pm.
