An Oxfordshire pub has been slammed with a zero-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

The Maltsters Arms in Rotherfield Greys near Henley-On-Thames was given the minimum score after assessment on September 20, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

A zero-out-of-five star rating means that 'urgent improvement' is needed at the establishment.

It means that of South Oxfordshire's 281 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 144 (51%) have ratings of five and just two have zero ratings.

The Food Standards Agency is in charge of inspecting and rating hospitality venues on a zero to five scale, zero is the lowest score and five is the highest.

The inspectors judged the restaurant with regard to hygienic food handling, cleanliness and the condition of facilities and management of food safety.
