A man who got a job as a pizza delivery driver despite being banned from driving has been jailed for 40 weeks.

Omer Asif, 25, of Headington Road, Oxford, showed Domino's Pizza a photocopy of his driving licence - despite the fact he had lost it through collecting too many penalty points.

He told a jury at Oxford Crown Court he thought he needed to show the UK licence just for identification purposes and that he could still legally drive on his international licence. He denied fraud.

Recorder Richard Prior said: "You embarked on a premeditated course of action, a dishonest course of action, intended to secure employment for yourself which involved you driving extensively on the public roads of this country."
