A 16-year-old girl was robbed of her phone in North Oxford.

The girl was walking along Banbury Road towards Cutteslowe at about 1am last Thursday, when, as she passed Carlton Road near to the junction with the bypass, she was robbed.

A man threatened her and got hold of her bag before she managed to run away.

The bag was left behind but her mobile phone was stolen.

The man was black, about 25 years old, 6ft tall and athletic. He had prominent cheekbones and was wearing dark clothing with this hair in tidy dreadlocks.

Det Con Claire Routledge said: "This was a particularly nasty incident which has left the girl considerably shaken.

"I would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the offence, or recognise the man in this image to contact me."
