A new expanded coach service from West Oxfordshire to London starts today.

Travellers will be able to board the Oxford Tube service to the capital from Witney’s Market Square, Carterton and Eynsham from Monday October 23 .

Bypassing Oxford city centre, it will stop at Thornhill then head on towards London with the option of four departures each weekday morning.

"The expansion of the service and these new stops will make the daily commute so much easier for those currently heading into Oxford to pick up the service as they can now start their journey closer to home.

The spacious coaches have air con, comfy seats, tables and charging points.

The new stops expand the reach of the hugely successful Oxford to London route which is also being improved.

Frequency is being increased across the board; operating up to 8 to 12 minutes on a Saturday (10 to 15 minutes Monday to Friday) and up to 20 minutes into the night.

A new stop has also been introduced at High Wycombe where the Oxford Tube will run hourly, weekdays, boarding at High Wycombe Coachway before travelling to Hillingdon and continuing the journey via Baker Street to London Victoria.

In addition, the new service connects High Wycombe with Oxford Brookes, Headington and Oxford city centre.

Stagecoach West has added new coaches to the fleet to make the changes and provide more capacity day and night.

"The Oxford Tube’s fair pricing and simple ticket offering remains unchanged; customers can continue to enjoy great value coach travel to London, more often," it said.
