I was amazed to receive the official newsletter of the Weston Otmoor eco-town consultation. Here we go again.

Not only has this profligate Government wasted millions of pounds on the abortive Bicester asylum centre, it is determined to waste more money on these so-called eco-towns.

It may well be that the proposed developers are paying for these consultations, but there is no doubt the Government is also involved.

What planet is this development company living on? It certainly isn't this one.

This country is a complete and utter shambles, incapable of doing anything constructive.

And how much is this grandiose scheme going to cost? Billions of pounds, I should think.

The consultation paper talks of expanding the railway system. The present railway system is overcrowded, very expensive and trains rarely run on time. And when will these soppy Greens realise that people will not - repeat not - give up their cars so if 35,000 people live there, how many more cars will be clogging up the roads around there?

On another note, I have kept the April 8 edition of the Oxford Mail, in which Gordon Brown was asked about a decision on the proposed eco-town at Weston and his answer was "in the hands of the people of Oxfordshire".

Another deliberate lie from this useless and completely out-of-touch Prime Minister.
