A blond-haired fantasist who told a girl that he was a mixed martial arts fighter was found guilty of raping two girls.

The assaults were both carried out in Lee Alexander’s red-walled bedroom when the girls were underage, jurors were told.

Alexander, now 24, claimed that one of the girls, who said she had been sexually assaulted during a sleepover at his home when she was in her early teens, had not visited his parents’ house in Thame.

And he denied raping the second girl, who was 17, although accepted having previously engaged in sexual activity with her.

On Thursday (October 12), he was convicted of rape, causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and controlling behaviour.

The defendant, who last year was jailed for tricking a young woman into sending him nude photographs of herself, was remanded into custody by Judge Maria Lamb and will be sentenced next months.

Opening the case against Alexander last week, prosecutor Daniel Janner KC said the defendant had told the girls lies about himself, including that he was a mixed martial arts fighter.

During his assault on the first victim, Alexander was said to have put his hand over her mouth and ‘shushed her’. “She described feeling powerless,” Mr Janner told jurors.

It was said Alexander asked the girl after he had raped her: “What was all that about? You were like a dead fish.”

A second victim came forward after seeing a social media post about the defendant that had been written by the first victim.

Closing her client’s case to the jury earlier this week, defence barrister Alison Gurden characterised the first victim as a ‘woman scorned’, who had found out Alexander was speaking online to a different girl.

And she asked the jury to consider whether the second victim had, in fact, ever visited Alexander’s home. The details she gave of his bedroom could have been pieced together from social media posts, it was suggested.

She counselled the panel of 12 to examine the evidence on each of the five counts involving the two victims individually.

“We would say in relation to the evidence you have, you cannot be satisfied so you are sure on any of those counts […] that Mr Alexander is guilty,” she said.

“If you are not satisfied so you are sure, there is only one verdict which you can give, which is not guilty.”

The jury returned unanimous guilty verdicts on four counts. After nine hours of deliberations, however, they were unable to reach a verdict on an allegation he caused or incident one of the victims, alleged to have been under-13 at the time, to engage in penetrative sexual activity.

Mr Janner confirmed that the Crown Prosecution Service would not seek a re-trial.

Alexander, of Lacey Drive, Thame, will be sentenced on November 9.
