DIY and garden chain Homebase has announced it will close one of its Oxfordshire stores next month.

Homebase bosses have confirmed that their store on Southam Road in Banbury will shut in November.

An exact closing date is yet to be announced by Homebase but ‘store closing’ signs have been placed outside the store announcing a closing down sale.

The posters say that “all stock reduced” and that “everything must go”.

Following the closure the closest Homebase store to Banbury will be 14 miles away in Bicester.

There are two other Homebase stores in Oxfordshire based in Abingdon and Oxford.

Homebase opened its first doors in 1979 and now has 150 stores across the UK and Ireland.
