Two scientists from the county have won prestigious UK and Ireland Fellowships for Women in Science.
Dr Ashleigh Griffin, 36, a research fellow at Edinburgh University, and Dr Tamsin Mather, 31, of Oxford University's department of earth sciences, were both awarded £15,000 to further their research careers.
The fellowships, sponsored by L'Oreal, are now in their 10th year and recognise outstanding female post-doctoral researchers.
