Severe weather warnings have been issued across much of the South of England - although forecasters have not listed Oxfordshire among the counties on alert.
The Met Office predicts up to 25mm of rain will fall in parts of the South East over the next three hours.
A spokesman said: "The public are advised to take extra care and refer to the Highways Agency for further advice regarding traffic disruption on motorways and trunk roads."
The Environment Agency has not issued any flood watches in the Thames Valley.
