Harry Potter star Emma Watson is coming back to the University of Oxford, it has been reported.

The 33-year-old actress, who spent a year studying at Worcester College while an undergraduate, has signed up for a masters degree in creative writing.

Most of the course will be completed online, although she will be expected to study at Oxford on a handful of dates.

A source told The Sun: “The course is for older adults and can be done on a part-time basis, which is perfect for Emma’s schedule.

“She only has to be on site for four or five days a year because she can do the rest of the course online from home.”

They added: "Because she’s a famous actress, she’ll have a security team looking after her whenever she has classes to go to.

"There have been a few incidents recently and she is taking every precaution necessary to ensure her safety.”

Ms Watson first revealed her plans to enrol on the creative writing course in an interview with the Financial Times earlier this year. She said she began writing poetry during lockdown, along with essays on love and friendships.

She has a close relationship with Oxford already, spending much of her childhood in Oxfordshire after moving to the county when she was five years old.

The actress, who made her name as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series, was a pupil at the Dragon School and Headington School in the city.
