A newly reopened pub near Wallingford has been handed top marks by food hygiene inspectors along with a host of other pubs, cafes, and restaurants across South Oxfordshire.
The Fleur de Lys in Dorchester was taken over and refurbished by Bishops Court Farm earlier this year and opened in May with a party and ribbon cutting.
And there is now more to celebrate after the traditional grade ii listed pub was given a five-out-of-five rating by the Food Standards Agency.
Five-star ratings were also given to the Old Post Office in Wallingford, Berinsfield Voluntary Day Centre, the Fat Fox Inn in Watlington, the Fox And Goat in Thame, the Coffee Bean cafe at Townlands Memorial Hospital in Henley and the Shoulder Of Mutton pub in nearby Playhatch.
It means that 144 (51 per cent) of the district’s 282 inspected restaurants, cafes, and canteens have ratings of five.
