Police have released the shocking footage of a drug addict who was chased from Wallingford to Henley.
Dangerous driver Richard Allen, 39, was jailed for 10 months at Oxford Crown Court last week, when Judge Maria Lamb described the chase as ‘about as bad as it could be’.
Behind the wheel of a Ford Mondeo on August 8, Allen failed to stop for the police in Wallingford, then hit 100mph on his way to Henley.
He tried to shake off the officers in the River Thames-side town by going the wrong-way around roundabouts and down one-way streets.
Thames Valley Police has now released footage from the police cars pursuing the Ford Mondeo, showing the shocking chase through south Oxfordshire.
Welcoming the jail sentence, PC Alex Manderson, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “This conviction demonstrates the seriousness of Richard Allen’s driving, which fell far below that of a competent driver.
“It was clear to see Allen was willing to take needless risks and in doing so put other road users at risk of serious harm by carrying out a dangerous manoeuvre.”
He added: “I hope this case shows those who consider or do drive dangerously or do not stop for police that you could put the public at risk and can expect to be brought to justice by us.”
As well as the 10 month jail sentence, Allen, of Lyndene Road, Didcot, was also banned from the roads for three years.
