A town council has issued notice of a casual vacancy after a councillor handed in his resignation.
Abingdon Town Council announced on Monday, August 14, that councillor David Williams has resigned.

A council spokesperson said: “Public notice is hereby given that due to the resignation of councillor David Williams a vacancy exists in the office of town councillor for Abingdon-on-Thames Town Council, Dunmore ward.
“The vacancy will be filled by election if, within 14 working days of the date of this notice, any ten local government electors for the said town ward submit a written request to the returning officer, Vale of White Horse District Council.
“If no such request is made the vacancy will be filled by co-option by the town council.”
