New research has named Oxford among the UK areas with the greatest year-on-year increase in temperature.

According to the research, carried out by energy management company Utility Bidder, Oxford is ranked ninth in areas in the UK with the highest year-on-year increase in temperature.

The study shows that Oxford saw a 7.26 per cent temperature increase from 2011 to 2012, and a large increase of 13 per cent from 2013 to 2014.

In total, from 2012 to 2022, the temperature in Oxford has increased by nearly seven per cent.

The data also shows the UK had its biggest temperature increase between 2007 to 2008.

During the 12-month period, temperatures increased by 12.25 per cent when compared to the previous year, with and average temperature of 6.16 per cent.
