A 'fear for welfare' incident near a busy dual carriageway near Oxford was safely dealt with this morning (Wednesday, July 19).
Thames Valley Police received a report of a woman standing on the bridge that carries the B4017 over the A420 near Cumnor at around 9.30am.
The driver who phoned the police said: “I was driving along the A420 and I saw something in the distance on the bridge itself.

“As I got closer and I looked up, there was a woman on the other side of the rail – on literally the wrong side.
“There was at least one person a little further away from her and there was another one to the left of her.”
A police spokesman confirmed the situation had been “resolved safely.”
