A pub has received a top rating for its food hygiene standards.

The Butchers Arms at Main Street, Fringford, was rated 5 on July 5.

The traditional 17th and 18th century stone-built village pub supports local darts teams, domino leagues, and Fringford cricket club.

It also hosts an Aunt Sally team - a traditional game only played in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire.

The pub was one of four venues in the Cherwell district awarded new food hygiene ratings, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.
