A dozen kittens were rescued from the Alpine F1 Team garage over the British Grand Prix weekend.

The cats were found by charity Cherwell Cats Protection at the base in Enstone near Chipping Norton.

They are now looking for new homes for the kittens.

Emily Parker, the coordinator for Cherwell Cats Protection charity, said: "We jumped to help when we received a call about 12 black kittens needing rescuing.

"Whilst we have the facilities to care for these kittens and we will certainly be able to find the new homes the cost of getting them ready for homes adds up.

“Each kitten will cost us around £130 each for our minimum veterinary requirements.

"If you wish to donate we would be extremely grateful."

All kittens will be looking for new homes in around three to four weeks. Anyone interested in adopting the kittens can email the charity here: enquiries@cherwell.cats.org.uk.
