A fish and chip shop in South Oxfordshire which was previously slapped with a two-star food hygiene rating has been re-inspected.

Goring Diner, located at Riverside Takeaway, High Street, was given a two out of five-star score after an inspection on March 9, the Food Standards Agency revealed.

The takeaway has since been re-inspected and was given a new four out of five hygiene rating after an inspection on June 5.

The latest rating means that of South Oxfordshire’s 80 takeaways with ratings, 29 have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.

The fish and chips takeaway was rated in the following areas: hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and management of food safety.

It was rated 'good' for hygienic food handling and cleanliness and condition of facilities and building.

It was rated 'generally satisfactory' for management of food safety.
