The John Radcliffe Hospital in Headington has submitted plans to rebuild a wall that collapsed last month.
The stone wall is situated on the boundary of the hospital site, on Osler Road leading to the junction of St Andrew’s Road.
It partially fell on June 16 due to a combination of ageing infrastructure and weather conditions.

University of Oxford NHS Foundation Trust, who run the hospital, said in its planning application: “The intention is to undertake a seamless rebuild which will return the wall to its original appearance and in an improved and safe condition.”
This will involve knocking down either side of the wall, the structure of which is deemed unsafe.
The application was validated by Oxford City Council last Tuesday (July 4).
No date has been set yet for a decision to be made on the planning application.
The John Radcliffe Hospital in Headington is Oxfordshire’s main accident and emergency site.
It provides acute medical and surgical services including trauma, intensive care and cardiothoracic services.
The hospital is situated on a 66 acre site.
