A French restaurant which has been hailed by a top restaurant critic has been rated ONE for food hygiene.
La Table d'Alix at The Plough at Rectory Road, Great Haseley, Oxford, was given the rating on May 25.
A score of 1 means major improvement is necessary.
But the restaurant's Facebook page quotes from a glowing review from Giles Coren of The Sunday Times: "The Best Roast Beef you will have cooked for you by a Frenchman."
New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to three of South Oxfordshire’s eateries, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.
Firco Ventures, T/A The Royal, at 31-32 St Marys Street, Wallingford, was given a rating of 4 on May 25.
Scoring a 4 on a food hygiene assessment means that the business's standards are good.
Also rated 4 on May 25 was Harris & Hoole at 1-3 Duke Street, Henley-On-Thames.
It means that of South Oxfordshire's 278 similar establishments with ratings, 137 (49 per cent) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
