An Oxfordshire pub has been handed a low food hygiene rating.

The rating suggests that improvement is necessary in food hygiene standards at the establishment.

It means that of South Oxfordshire's 276 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 137 (50%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.

The Food Standards Agency is in charge of inspecting and rating hospitality venues on a zero to five scale, zero is the lowest score and five is the highest.

The inspectors judged the restaurant with regard to hygienic food handing, cleanliness and the condition of facilities and management of food safety.
