A school in Oxfordshire has unexpectedly been forced to close its doors.

Burford School, a co-educational academy and state boarding school, has closed for the entire day due to issues with its water supply.

On its website, Burford School confirmed it had closed due to a “loss of water pressure on site” and Thames Water was working to fix the issue but “cannot guarantee when service will be resumed”.

Parents and carers are advised to check the school’s mail service for updates.

The school was also included on Oxfordshire County Council's Emergency Closures listings. 

Thames Water has been contacted for comment.
