A woman has appeared in court accused of wounding and damaging a man’s car.
Jade Chetwynd-Stapylton, 43, of Marlborough Road, Banbury, pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding and criminal damage when she was before Judge Maria Lamb at Oxford Crown Court on Monday (June 26).
The offences were committed on July 21, 2021.
Judge Lamb adjourned sentencing for the preparation of a probation report recommending alternatives to immediate custody and bailed the defendant to return to court on July 21, exactly two years after the offences were committed.
But she warned that the wounding was a ‘serious matter’ that involved the use of an ‘implement’ and said all sentencing options – including custody – remained open.
Unlawful wounding, sometimes called causing grievous bodily harm, carries a maximum penalty of five years’ imprisonment.
