Temperatures in Oxfordshire are set to hit nearly 30C this weekend.

With warm weather on the way, many of us will be thinking of ways to cool off in the heat.

Luckily Oxfordshire has a selection of outdoor pools for members of the public to enjoy.

Here is a list of some of the best ones to try in the coming heatwave.

Hinksey Outdoor Pool

 

Hinksey Outdoor Pool in south Oxford opened on June 12 after work to install a new pool liner was completed.

The swimming pool is a much-loved summer attraction in the area.

Sessions at Hinksey Outdoor Pool can be booked via their website and season tickets are also available.

The pool is owned by Oxford City Council but it is managed by operators Fusion Lifestyle.

Riverside Park and Pools, Wallingford

 

Riverside Park and Pools in Wallingford is set adjacent to the River Thames.

The swimming pool opened on May 27, and it will remain open until September 3.

The site also has a splash pad for children, but this is currently being refurbished.

The pool is heated, and a number of sessions are run there including Swim for Fitness, Swim for All, Outdoor Aqua Aerobics and Swim Doctor.

Banbury Open Air Pool

 

Banbury Open Air Pool can be found at the Woodgreen Leisure Centre.

The site boasts a 50m swimming pool, a bowling hall and a gym.

The pool is open for both lane swimming or just to have fun in the pool.

The Lido, Chipping Norton

 

The Lido in Chipping Norton has two fully heated outdoor pools.

One is a 25m swimming pool and the other is paddling pool for young children.

The area also has a café and a tree-lined lawn.

The Lido describes itself as ‘an oasis of calm in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds.’
