Heavy rain is falling across Oxfordshire, with lightning and thunderstorms expected to continue throughout the day.

The Met Office has issued a yellow thunderstorm warning for today, which means that sudden flooding and difficult driving conditions are likely.

Road closures may also be put in place and there is a chance that cancellations to train and bus services could happen.

There is around a 90 per cent chance of rain falling in Oxford until 11am.

It will continue to remain very warm throughout the day, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 23C at 4pm.

Sunshine is expected to come out at 6pm and this is likely to last until 9pm.

In the afternoon, there is only a 10 per cent chance of rainfall.

Tomorrow, it will be hot once again with temperatures reaching a maximum of 24C at 4pm but no yellow thunderstorm warning has been put in place.

Oxfordshire is also set to have yet another very hot weekend, with temperatures set to soar to 26C.
