The trial is to begin this week of the man accused of beating another to death in Wood Farm.
Liam Jones, 44, is accused of murdering Phil Breach in the shadow of Foresters Tower on November 30 last year.
The 59-year-old alleged victim was found a critical condition in the park between Nuffield Road and Wood Farm Road. He died later that day.
Jones, of Abingdon Road, Oxford, has previously pleaded not guilty to murder.
The trial, which is expected to last between two and three weeks, will be conducted in front of High Court judge Mr Justice Murray.
The case will be heard in courtroom three, one of the smaller courtrooms at Oxford Crown Court.
The largest courtroom – one – is currently playing host to the Jericho murder trial.
