A teenager has been charged with drink and drug driving after destroying his car in a horror crash on the M4.
Joshua McClure, of Alice Smith Square in Oxford, was charged after a one-vehicle smash between Junction 17 of the M4, near Chippenham, and Junction 16 at Swindon.
The 19-year-old crashed his car while heading eastbound on the motorway, at around 5.30am on the morning of Saturday, June 10, and was subsequently arrested by police.
Pictures showed that the collision had caused huge damage to the vehicle.
In a tweet, Wiltshire Police claimed McClure had fallen asleep while driving home after drinking and smoking cannabis.
They added that nobody had been injured in the incident.
The post read: “This is what happens when you drink and smoke cannabis and fall asleep on the drive home on the motorway. Thankfully, no one was hurt, driver arrested.”
