Families will have to wait a while longer for a popular splashpad to reopen while repair work is carried out.

Witney Town Council said it is "working towards opening the splash pad later this month".

It added it will keep people updated "when we are nearer to an opening date".

In a post on its Facebook page the council said: "Over the last few months, contractors have been working on and off-site to make the required alterations and repairs to the system, in order for it to work more reliably."

The water feature at the Leys has been closed several times for maintenance work and repairs.

Last June the splash pad closed as one of the sensors was not working and the water flow became erratic.

The council added: "Witney Town Council are committed to providing a fun water-play area at The Leys for summer 2023 and thank you for your patience."
