A new Cotswold pub group has launched with a pipeline of reopenings of refurbished locals over the next 12 months.

Lionhearth will launch two new pubs, a handful of rooms and self-catering cottages.

The group already operates The Chequers in Churchill and The Swan in Ascott-under-Wychwood.

It recently bought The Black Horse in Salford, near Chipping Norton, and the Cock Inn in Combe.

A new property The Chapel will open this summer adding three more bedrooms at The Swan.

The group said the new spaces will combine ‘playful modern interiors’ with classic ‘honey-coloured Cotswold architecture’ and all guests will have full access to The Swan and its large garden terrace.

Lionhearth has also invested heavily in The Black Horse in Salford which will reopen in late summer 2023.

The property has been restored to its former glory and will offer a classic pub atmosphere and ‘rustic’ dining.

A new one-bedroom cottage for overnight stays will also be launched.

The group will also be taking bookings for their newly renovated cottages in a prime spot in Kingham towards the end of the year.

The four two-bedroom cottages will each feature a fully functional kitchen and be served by the neighbouring Lionhearth pubs.

And in December 2023, Grade-II listed The Cock Inn in Combe, near Witney, will launch with a new dining concept.

Scott Macdonald, managing director of Lionhearth, said: “Our pubs are the heart of our communities.

"We are committed to securing these precious spaces over the long term and will continue to invest in the region to create warm, welcoming venues where friends, families and loved ones can enjoy exceptional food, superb wines and regional beers for many years to come.”
