A man picked up and killed a mallard duck on a pedestrianised street, fleeing the scene before police arrived.

Thames Valley Police has released a CCTV image of a man wanted for questioning in connection with the animal cruelty incident. 

Officers believe the man may have vital information regarding the incident, which took place on Cornmarket Street in Oxford at around 2am on Thursday, June 1.

Investigating Officer PC Daniel Gunston, based at Cowley Police Station, said: “We would like to appeal to anybody who recognises the man in this image to please get in touch as they may have vital information about this incident.”
