A special bus wrapped in the colours of Progress Flag will make its debut at Oxford Pride.

Stagecoach West will show its support for the LGBTQ+ community as one of the sponsors of this year’s event.

The Progress Flag is a development of the rainbow flag to also represent the trans, non-binary and intersex communities and to show support for marginalised LGBTQ+ communities of colour.

The Stagecoach West Pride Bus will be parked at Bonn Square and will provide a colourful backdrop to the Pride parade as the route takes volunteers past.

Staff representing Stagecoach will also be in the Castle Square market giving visitors the chance to find out more about their local bus services and win prizes.

Rachel Geliamassi, managing director, Stagecoach West, said: “We’re delighted to be a sponsor at this year’s Oxford Pride and I hope it’s a wonderful event for all involved.

"As an inclusive company it’s important that we show our support of the LGBTQ+ community and let everyone know that they are welcome and valued.

“Our employee-led networks have been incredibly successful, giving members the freedom to push boundaries, encourage change and support colleagues – all the things that make Stagecoach such a great place to work.”

The brightly-coloured Pride bus comes from Stagecoach’s Swindon depot and when not in service will feature in further Pride events within the areas Stagecoach West operates in.
