Police and ambulance crews received a number of hoax calls from youngsters last week.
In a round-up of their activities over the past week, Thames Valley Police (TVP) Cherwell said a woman rang police saying she was about to be attacked.
Multiple units responded but were unable to find her.
Later a group of young people admitted to hoax calling both police and the ambulance service which was later confirmed by CCTV.
Police received a second hoax call during the early hours of this morning (Friday, June 2) about possession of weapons in a public place.
TVP Cherwell officers reminded the public to only use 999 in an emergency.
They posted the following message on Facebook: "Whilst you may be making that hoax call there is someone in desperate need of our help who can’t get through."
