A popular beer festival will kick off tonight in Oxford for its 12th year.

The White Hart pub in Headington will hold its annual beer festival this weekend.

The beer festival starts tonight (May 19) and will run until Sunday (May 21).

There will be over 40 beers and ciders on offer as well as a BBQ and pig roast.

Oxford Mail: The White Hart, Headington

On Saturday night there will be live music on show in the beer garden.

Entry to the event is free.

A pub announcement said: “Beers are racked and ready. Ciders are chilling down in the cellar.

“Hopefully see you all this weekend.”

The White Hart was crowned the winner of the Oxford Mail Best Pub 2022 competition,

A shortlist of 10 pubs across Oxfordshire was drawn up and readers were asked to nominate their favourite using a coupon in the paper.

The friendly community pub in St Andrew’s - a short distance away from neighbouring hostelry The Black Boy - is run by Dan Smaje and his wife Carole.

The pub, owned by Everards, has been listed in the Good Beer Guide for nine consecutive years and was awarded the Oxford CAMRA Pub of the Year in 2014 and 2017.

It has seven different beers and ciders on hand pumps, as well as a good selection of draught and bottled beers.

Mr Smaje and his wife have been running The White Hart, which dates back to the 16th century, for the past 15 years.
