All proceeds go to the Lord’s Taverners charity, whose mission remains to empower young people with disabilities and those from disadvantaged communities to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence by playing sport.

In 2011 Steeple Aston Cricket Club raised £25,000 for the charity, which was the most any village had ever raised in the 73-year history of the Taverners.

In 2016 the club broke its own record raising £30,000 which paid for a modified minibus that allowed many disabled children to be taken to Taverners’ cricket matches.

The match at Great and Little Tew Cricket Club, Ledwell Rd, Great Tew, OX7 4AQ, starts at 2pm on Sunday May 21.

Car parking costs £5, which includes free entry and a free programme, and there will be a bar, food stalls, and a tea and cake stand.
