A man has received a formal wanting after being caught relieving himself in front of people passing by a cemetery on Tuesday.

The Cherwell District Council community safety team was called to a group of adults causing anti-social behaviour at the St Edburgs Cemetery within the restricted Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) in Bicester.

Two men and a woman under the influence of drink and other substances were involved in a domestic argument which began to be directed at people nearby.

After the safety team were called one of the men began to relieve himself in view of people passing by.

All three were given formal warnings and if found causing anti-social behaviour in this area again by any officer from Cherwell District Council community safety team or Thames Valley Police within six months, will be fined £100.

Their details have been placed on the police system.

A Cherwell District Council community safety team spokesman said: "If you cause alarm, harassment or distress to members of the public while within the PSPO area in Bicester, you will be treated the same and you could potentially end up in court resulting in a criminal record and potentially a Criminal Behaviour Order being served against you."

The council exercised the PSCO under Section 59 of the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act last June.

It will be in force for three years unless extended by any further order in accord with the council’s statutory powers.

The order stops people from a range of anti-social behaviour including consuming alcohol in the restricted area.
