A pair have been arrested after an alleged fight in Blackbird Leys, police have said.

Officers were called to reports of an altercation on Balfour Road at 3.12pm this afternoon (May 3).

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police initially said a woman had been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.

A man was arrested on suspicion of assault.

The force later clarified that it was the man arrested on the weapons charge and the woman arrested on suspicion of assault. You can read an update here.

“The incident has now been resolved and there is no wider risk to the local community and nobody was injured,” the police spokesman said.
