A misconduct panel ruled that a police officer accused of failing to follow up evidence had no case to answer.
PC Franklin, based in Slough, was said to have filed to make any enquiries to identify suspects, despite being given a photograph of the alleged offenders by the victim’s father.

He allegedly took no steps to identify the suspects; but told the victim’s father the suspects could not be identified, Thames Valley Police said in an official notice ahead of a hearing at Kidlington police headquarters in April.
A notice published on the force’s website said that, at a preliminary hearing, the panel ‘ruled there was no case to answer for PC Franklin’.
No detail was given as to why it was deemed there was no case to answer.
