An inquest into a woman that died after being hit by a train in Oxfordshire will conclude tomorrow (April 19).

Emily Hickman, 34, from Chipping Norton died on November 30 last year at a level crossing in Kidlington.

The delivery driver was hit by a train at about 5.11pm.

The inquest was opened on December 14 at Oxford Coroner’s Court.  

Oxfordshire’s chief coroner Darren Salter said at the inquest opening: “She was seen to walk onto the train tracks and the train driver sounded the horn but sadly she was unable to move out of the way and was hit by the train.”

After a post-mortem, the cause of Ms Hickman’s death was given as massive trauma.

The purpose of an inquest is to establish the facts of the death, including who died, when, how and where they died and the circumstances of the death.
